Meet the creator: Nicole Barrios

It started at rock bottom for me.
No confidence, no purpose, confused, lost...
I turned to fitness, which I am forever grateful for.
Unfortunately for me, it took a dark turn when I let it control my life.
I was doing 2 workouts a day, eating as little as possible, and skipping out on social events just to avoid having to face temptation with food.
I was hoping the extreme habits I was implementing would get my to my dream body as fast as possible, but instead it destroyed it.
It ruined my hormones, destroyed my gut, I had horrible brain fog, I never had energy (and the little I did have went to my 2-a-days), I was bloated, irritated, and every day felt like a DRAG.
I KNEW this wasn't right, but I didn't know where to go, or who to trust.
So, I decided to make changes. And this change was another extreme..
I tried to eat more, snacked all day long, increased the weight like crazy at the gym, followed influencers random workouts each week...
I gained some healthy weight, but still felt "fluffy".
My stress was through the roof, I was not properly fueling myself (somedays I was eating a ton, somedays eating too little), my form was crap, and truly I just didn't know what my body needed to get the results I was looking for.
Again, something had to change, and this time I decided to look inward - It was my perfectionism and habit of extreme practices that was actually keeping me from a balanced, and well rounded life.
Sure, education helped, and is massively important, but...
I had to face my fears with food.
Overcome an eating disorder.
Put the ego aside, and go back to lifting lighter weight.
I Invested time and money to understanding what my body actually needed.
I HAD to stop comparing myself to what I saw on IG.
All of these sacrifices are what got me here...
To my strongest, happiest, healthiest, and most confident self I have ever been.
It's changed my life. The way I view life. The way I show up. The way I think about myself.
The way I treat others.
Fitness has shaped who I am today, inside and out.
Not only that, it actually saved my life...
And this is why I have devoted my life to helping women use fitness to come out dark places, to build unbreakable confidence, to feel like they belong, and to create the life they've only dreamt of.
You're more powerful than you think.
I believe in you, but you gotta believe in yourself too.
